How do I turn a trend into a useful campaign brief?

Turn a trend into a campaign by connecting evidence to an actual customer problem, a deliverable offer and a test. The trend is a research input. The strategy must still explain who benefits, why they should believe the message and how the business will judge the outcome.

    Use a one-page brief

    FieldWhat to write
ObservationExact source, date, market and filters
Customer questionThe decision or difficulty behind the search
Offer and proofDeliverable scope, limits and evidence you can publish
Message and destinationOne clear promise linked to the relevant page
TestAudience, variant, owner, budget boundary and duration
DecisionPrimary outcome, review date and stop conditions

    Check the path before promotion

Make the landing page answer the same question as the ad. Include suitability, delivery area, material conditions and an obvious next step. Test on mobile in each language. The form must acknowledge a stored submission accurately; a button click alone is not a qualified lead.

    How can AI help?

A research assistant can organise cited observations and draft variants. A decision model can label observations against an explicit rubric. Keep source URLs and dates attached, make missing evidence visible and require review for factual claims and budget changes. AI should not invent trend data, testimonials or competitor results. The agentic workflow guide explains the approval and logging boundaries.

What should happen after the test?

Compare eligible visits, useful enquiries and eventual outcomes without treating them as the same number. Investigate mismatches: many clicks but few relevant enquiries may indicate an unclear offer, wrong audience or broken task. If the evidence is sparse, collect more or narrow the experiment rather than declaring a winner. Use the measurement guide and retain unsuccessful tests: they prevent repeated spending on the same assumption.
